whispered morning

a soft exhale, my lips rest on the back of your neck
i ease out of sleep and neither of us have moved
still breathing deeply our bodies filling and sinking together
such great heights behind us and the rest of the day ahead
i brush my face through your hair and take you in
you pull me closer with our fingers still entwined
whispers of good morning when i kiss your neck
you give me more skin when you feel the hair around my mouth
and i kiss you again, everything looks perfect from here
a shoulder turns and your hips face mine
eyes still closed, a leg and arm move across me
slowly i'm a part of you and pulled close again
my cheek in your hair, yours to my chest
the sweet smell pushes me back to sleep
your lips press my neck quietly, a soft exhale
a whispered reply, warm breath caresses good morning back
and what a good morning it is
